1. Income Validation
1.1 Conduct monthly income validation
2. Portfolio Quality Management
2.1 Monitor performing vs non-performing loans (NPLs)
2.2 Conduct regular portfolio reviews
2.3 Implement early warning systems for arrears detection
2.4 Recommend corrective actions to maintain portfolio quality
3. Loan Appraisal & Affordability Assessment
3.1 Conduct thorough credit appraisals for all loan applications
3.2 Assess client affordability and repayment capacity using financial data
3.3 Ensure compliance with credit policies and underwriting standards
3.4 Maintain high-quality credit analysis and documentation
3.5 Ensure loan processing Turnaround Time (TAT) is consistently achieved
3.6 Identify and mitigate potential credit risks prior to approval
4. Recovery Performance
4.1 Track recovery rates for overdue loans (30/60/90 days)
4.2 Implement structured follow-up strategies
4.3 Oversee automated reminders and client engagement.
5. Cost of Credit Management
5.1 Monitor interest income vs credit loss ratios
5.2 Analyze portfolio yield against write-offs
6. Reporting Accuracy & Timeliness
6.1 Prepare monthly and quarterly credit portfolio reports
6.2 Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reports
6.3 Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for reporting
7. Board Pack Preparation
7.1 Prepare accurate and comprehensive board pack reports
7.2 Ensure timely submission of board materials
8. Reconciliations, Submissions & Posting Accuracy
8.1 Ensure accuracy of financial reconciliations across credit accounts
8.2 Verify correctness of system postings and transactions
8.3 Ensure timely and accurate regulatory and internal submissions
8.4 Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
9. Security Perfection
9.1 Ensure all loan securities are properly documented and perfected
9.2 Track and monitor collateral registration.
9.3 Liaise with legal and operations teams to resolve security-related gaps
9.4 Maintain up-to-date security records and documentation
10. Training & Capacity Building
10.1 Conduct regular training sessions for Credit Team and Branch Staff
10.2 Provide guidance on credit policies, appraisal standards, and procedures
10.3 Support onboarding and continuous professional development
10.4 Identify skills gaps and recommend training interventions
11. Succession Planning & Staff Development
11.1 Support development of succession plans
11.2 Identify and nurture high-potential employees
11.3 Promote employee development and retention strategies
11.4 Facilitate cross-training and leadership development programs
11.5 Organisation structure design & implementation- Approval of structure and execution.
12. Leave & Resource Planning
12.1 Ensure adequate operational coverage during staff leave
12.2 Support implementation of leave management systems
12.3 Develop contingency plans for resource gaps
13. Regulatory Compliance (Bank of Zambia)
13.1 Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports
13.2 Stay updated on regulatory requirements
13.3 Support staff training on compliance and regulatory standards
14. Compliance to Credit Policy
14.1 Monitor and report policy violations
14.2 Ensure adherence to internal credit policies
14.3 Conduct or support internal audits
14.4 Facilitate compliance training for staff
15. Policy Creation & Updates
15.1 Support development and implementation of new credit policies
15.2 Conduct stakeholder consultations and workshops
15.3 Ensure clear communication of policy updates

16. Product Creation & Improvement
16.1 Support development of new credit products
16.2 Analyze market trends and identify gaps

17. KPI Review & Monitoring
17.1 Track and update KPIs monthly
