JOB PURPOSE
The Legal Officer is responsible for providing legal guidance and support to the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and renew the appropriate legal documents for trail or court proceedings in partnership with external counsel
- Must be able to use Government E - systems
- Draft and review Commercial Agreements
- Design and oversee the company’s policy and position on legal matters
- Examine the legal issues related to new products and services
- Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations
- Update the department on legal statutory amendments and/or legal reforms.
- Any other duty as delegated by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
- Full grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum Degree in Law
- Minimum 2-years experience in similar role
- Must have been to ZIALE (waiting completion)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must possess a good understanding to analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic solutions
- Risk assessment and mitigation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Packages
- Analytical and a multi-task.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, honest, ability to work under pressure and privatize tasks
- Willing to grow with the organization
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing legal documents and policies
