As we expand, we are seeking a Construction Project Assistant with strong technical training, proven Chinese language ability, and China-based education experience to support communication and project coordination with our Chinese partners.
Job Description
The Construction Project Assistant will support the company’s construction and infrastructure projects by coordinating between technical teams, management, suppliers, and Chinese stakeholders. The role requires strong technical understanding, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate in a bilingual (Chinese–English) environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordination, and monitoring of construction and engineering projects.
- Read, interpret, and review technical drawings, BOQs, designs, and related project documents.
- Provide mandatory Chinese–English communication support for meetings, site visits, documents, and daily coordination.
- Translate and explain technical information to local and Chinese teams.
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, and documentation for internal and external use.
- Coordinate procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, authorities, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure project compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Support management with administrative and operational duties related to construction activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related major, such as:
- Civil Engineering
- Construction Management
- Architecture
- Structural Engineering
- Building Science
- Quantity Surveying
- Or other related fields
- MANDATORY: Chinese language proficiency at HSK 4 or higher.
- MANDATORY: Must have studied in China.
- Preferred: Master’s degree (especially from a Chinese university).
- Strong understanding of construction processes and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working with Chinese companies or Chinese engineering teams.
- Familiarity with Chinese construction standards or terminology.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet operational demands.
