Job Purpose / Summary
A Bakery Manager oversees the daily operations of a bakery, ensuring high-quality products, excellent customer service, and efficient staff management. They are responsible for maintaining food safety standards, managing inventory, and driving sales.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
· Supervise daily bakery operations
· Ensure all baked goods meet quality and presentation standards
· Monitor production schedules and product availability
2. Staff Supervision
· Hire, train, and supervise bakery staff
· Create work schedules and assign duties
· Motivate team members and manage performance
3. Customer Service
· Ensure excellent customer experience
· Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally
· Maintain a welcoming and clean environment
4. Inventory & Ordering
· Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies
· Order raw materials and manage supplier relationships
· Minimize waste and control costs
5. Financial Management
· Track sales and expenses
· Set pricing strategies and meet sales targets
· Prepare reports for management/owners
6. Food Safety & Hygiene
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
· Maintain cleanliness of bakery and equipment
· Enforce proper food handling procedures
7. Qualifications & Requirements
· Experience in bakery or food service management
· Strong leadership and team management skills
· Knowledge of baking techniques and products
· Good communication and customer service skills
· Basic financial and inventory management knowledge
· Certificate or diploma in hospitality, baking, or business management
