Job Purpose
The Business Development Lead (BDL) – Data Centre is responsible for driving strategic growth, leading business development initiatives, and managing high-value client accounts for NetOne Zambia’s Data Centre services. This role focuses on expanding market share, promoting Data Centre, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and enterprise technology solutions, and ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans for the Data Centre division.
- Lead sales efforts for colocation, IaaS, SaaS, cybersecurity, networking, and enterprise technology solutions.
- Identify, prospect, and convert high-value leads into revenue-generating opportunities.
- Manage and grow key client accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term engagement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinating with internal technical teams and third-party partners for seamless solution delivery.
- Prepare and oversee high-quality proposals, bids, tenders, and RFP responses.
- Lead customer presentations, pitches, and negotiations to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and OEM partners to secure competitive solutions.
- Monitor market trends, identify new business opportunities, and recommend innovative solutions to drive growth.
- Provide timely sales forecasts, reports, and insights to management.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, sharing best practices and knowledge.
- Undertake additional assignments or projects as required, particularly those focused on revenue optimization and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field. Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 3–10 years’ experience in ICT sales, business development, or pre-sales, preferably in Data Centre, Cloud, or insurance
- Proven track record in B2B sales, account management, and revenue growth.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and client engagement skills.
- Experience managing high-value or enterprise accounts.
- Strategic thinker with results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in the banking, insurance, or enterprise sectors is advantageous.
- Valid driving license and passport.
