Role Overview
As a Junior Electrical/Fiber Network Engineer, you will support the design, deployment, testing, and maintenance of fiber-based telecommunications networks. This entry-level position is ideal for recent electrical engineering graduates eager to apply their knowledge in a fast-paced, hands-on environment focused on fiber optics and hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) systems for cable TV and broadband delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and planning of fiber-optic network layouts, including FTTH/FTTP deployments and cable TV signal distribution.
- Support field surveys, site assessments, and installation of fiber cables, splicing enclosures, optical nodes, and related electrical/power systems.
- Perform basic testing and troubleshooting using tools such as OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and network analyzers to ensure signal integrity and low-loss connections.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on network optimization, fault resolution, and upgrades to support high-bandwidth services
- Contribute to documentation, including schematics, as-built drawings, and compliance with industry standards
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Strong foundational knowledge of electrical circuits, power systems, and basic networking concepts.
- Interest in fiber optics, telecommunications, and broadband technologies (prior internship, coursework, or projects in fiber, RF, or networking a plus).
- Willingness to learn hands-on tools and field work
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team.
