About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Engineer (Generalist) with strong hands‑on experience across servers, storage, networking, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), and backup technologies. The ideal candidate is a well‑rounded technical professional who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, driving stability, and ensuring high availability across mission‑critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Server & Systems Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and/or Linux Server environments.
- Perform OS patching, hardening, updates, and performance optimization.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related services.
Virtualization
- Administer and support VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V environments.
- Deploy and maintain virtual machines, clusters, vSAN (if applicable), HA/DRS, and resource optimization.
- Conduct capacity planning and ensure best practices in virtualized environments.
Storage & Backup
- Administer SAN/NAS storage platforms (Dell, HPE, Huawei, or equivalent).
- Manage LUN provisioning, replication, snapshots, and storage performance monitoring.
- Configure and maintain enterprise backup systems such as Veeam, Commvault, or similar.
- Ensure backup success, retention compliance, and test restore processes.
Networking
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall basics.
- Work with networking teams/vendors on escalations and infrastructure improvements.
- Maintain network documentation and topology diagrams.
Monitoring & Security
- Implement monitoring on servers, virtual infrastructure, and storage.
- Participate in security hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation.
- Assist with compliance and audit requirements.
Support & Operations
- Provide Tier‑3 infrastructure support for escalated incidents.
- Document solutions, create SOPs, and assist with knowledge transfer.
- Participate in DR testing, continuity planning, and infrastructure upgrades.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–7+ years experience as a Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer.
- Strong experience with Linux, Windows Server, virtualization, and storage environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi) and/or Hyper‑V.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching).
- Experience with enterprise backup systems (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex multi‑layered infrastructure issues.
- Comfortable working independently in fast‑paced environments.
Nice to Have (Advantageous)
- Certifications: VMware VCP, Microsoft AZ‑104 / AZ‑800, MCSA/MCSE, Veeam VMCE, CompTIA Server+ / Network+, or equivalent.
- Experience in cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
- Exposure to scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Experience with monitoring tools (PRTG, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.).
