JOB PURPOSE
To safely and efficiently transport company products to various locations across Zambia, ensuring timely deliveries, proper handling of goods, and compliance with road safety and company policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transport company products to branches, clients, and designated locations across Zambia in a safe and timely manner.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and offloading of goods to prevent damage or loss.
- Verify goods against delivery documentation before dispatch and upon delivery
- Monitor and inspect vehicles regularly, ensuring that they are in optimal condition for safe and efficient operation.
- Adhere to traffic regulations and safe driving practices at all times, prioritizing the safety and well-being of passengers and cargo during transportation.
- Document and maintain accurate daily records for vehicle, meticulously logging all trips, mileage covered and any maintenance or repair activities.
- Implement efficient fuel management practices, tracking fuel consumption, and coordinating refueling activities to ensure an adequate supply of fuel for uninterrupted operations.
- Perform other duties assigned by management in line with role.
REQUIREMENTS
- Full Grade Twelve (12) certificate
- Minimum of 3 years experience in long-distance or cross-country driving
- Valid driving license (Class C, C1, CE, D etc.) with experience driving commercial vehicles.
- Physical Fitness: Capable of lifting heavy goods and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of the Zambia Highway Code and proven commitment to road safety and defensive driving practices.
- Basic first aid and fire safety skills, with the ability to respond appropriately in emergencies.
- Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to conduct routine vehicle inspections, identify early mechanical issues, and report faults promptly.
